Potpourri Designs
Potpourri is a long-lived home catalog appealing to women looking for the perfect gift. Management recognized the need to update their presentation and hired Farrar & Farrar. A new logo was designed, a new type treatment developed, and a lighter, more open, free-spirited graphic format established. Photographic emphasis shifted to silhouettes, creating an immediate distinction from Expressions. Images became larger, and spreads carried longer, wittier headlines that emphasized the gift-giving mission of the catalog. Strong color bars anchored the spreads and called attention to key items. Whimsical illustrations reinforced the stories on each spread.
